*Please note, the 2008 - 2009 season will be the last season for the slide competitions.*
1. All slides must have the projection thumb mark properly affixed on the lower lefthand comer of the slide as it is viewed hand-held. In other words, look at the slide as you wish it to appear on the screen and put the thumb mark in the lower left hand comer of the mount.
2. All slides must have the title and maker's name clearly printed on the slide.
3. Each paid member may submit up to four (4) slides per monthly competition: two (2) slides in the Open category, two (2) slides in the Assigned category.
4. An entry can be resubmitted one more time if it has not received an award in previous Utica Camera Club competitions. Award means placing in an Honorable Mention through First Place. If the entry has not received an award after the first or second submission, it can be modified and resubmitted twice more, as well as for each subsequent modification.
5. The intent of modification is a physical change of the slide. In the case of a slide this can be done by cropping, taping, remounting into a different shaped mount, or sandwiching with another slide. Changing the title or reversing the slide is not a modification.
6. Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention(s), when applicable, will be given in each of the categories (Open and Assigned) at the monthly competitions.
7. An award winning slide cannot be entered again in monthly slide competitions. It can be remade as a color or monochrome print and entered in the print competition the following club yea , subject to the print competition rules.
8. Final competition awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention(s) will be given in each category (Open and Assigned) at the annual banquet. A "Slide of the Year" award, selected by the Judge(s), will be given to one of the two first place slides.
